Actuation and controls on critical service FCC valves have evolved over decades becoming more and more complex. Process licensors have continued to modify their specifications based upon industry feedback and their own research. The changes have generally called for higher performance, enhanced reliability and improved safety features. Meeting these specifications has meant adding additional parts, cost, complexity and size to the hydraulic power control units (HPCUs). Operators have been left with very complex and expensive and actuation.
In this presentation we will dive deeper into alternative technologies to traditional and how they compare both technically and commercially. These technologies provide all the performance while reducing the amount of required componentry by up to 80%. This lowers costs across the board including the product itself, but also installation and maintenance over the life cycle of the product. We will share end user case studies highlighting these advantages in various applications throughout the FCC.
